Dust Bunny Pendant 2025
Materials Hand-sculpted porcelain with surface appliques and translucency. Includes 6-foot CSA-approved wiring for ceiling installation.
Dimensions Approx. 11” W x 10” H
The Dust Bunny Pendant is an unconventional study in texture and form, utilizing porcelain to resemble a gathered cluster of swept particles and fiber. The piece features a complex surface of hand-applied porcelain 'lint' and 'dust' appliques, layered over a sculpted body. This intricate texture creates a dynamic play of shadows in lavenders, blues, and greys when unlit.
When illuminated, the porcelain emits a warm, diffused glow. The varying thickness of the hand-sculpted walls and the density of the surface appliques allow light to saturate the thinner sections intensely while casting a subtle warmth through the denser areas, emphasizing the organic, irregular silhouette. Designed for atmospheric impact, it functions as a singular accent or as part of a clustered installation.
Each work is handmade by Meg Hübert in her Vancouver studio. Due to the sculptural process and spontaneous application of textures, the specific contours and light distribution of each pendant are unique.
