Acquire › Lungangolo Bookcase by Achille Castiglioni

Lungangolo Bookcase by Achille Castiglioni

$7,150.00

Lungangolo Bookcase (Left) by Achille Castiglioni for Karakter

Castiglioni, it's said, was fascinated by the idea of "lost space" – those empty corners and unused inches that could be transformed by beautiful design, but for some reason remained overlooked. This fascination led him to create pieces specifically for those forgotten corners, like the Lungangolo.

Originally produced by Bernini, the Lungangolo is a versatile piece of furniture with a frame of four slender, square-section pillars supporting square shelves at varying heights. A drawer and side piece provide additional strength, but their positioning led to a unique challenge: to accommodate both left and right-handed users, the Lungangolo had to be manufactured in two versions.

Finish: Oiled oak

Dimensions: 36 x 36 x 225 h cm

Terms & Conditions

ADDITION brings together resonant works by artists and designers whose practices span geographies, generations, and disciplines. Their ideas and objects sit at the meeting point of material culture, memory, and contemporary imagination.

From our home in Vancouver’s Armoury / Design District, we cultivate thoughtful encounters between creators and collectors, between space and narrative, and between the worlds we inherit and the ones we shape. Upcoming programming extends outward to Mexico City and Lima, Peru.

We acknowledge that ADDITION stands on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, whose enduring stewardship and cultural presence continue to guide the creative communities who gather here.
