Epic Coffee Table Large by GamFratesi for Gubi

The GamFratesi's Epic Table for GUBI is a distinctive piece of furniture inspired by ancient epic poems, Greek columns, and Roman architecture. Originally crafted in Italy from travertine stone, it has been transformed with a new variant incorporating galvanized and lacquered steel plates. These plates undergo meticulous hand-finishing processes, resulting in a unique surface expression for each table. This fusion of materials gives the table an industrial aesthetic while retaining its monolithic form.

The collection adds character and durability to various settings, making it suitable for private and public spaces. Its surfaces are exceptionally resilient and ideal for high-traffic areas. What sets the Epic Table Collection apart is the range of heights and diameters, allowing for individual or dynamic cluster arrangements with different materials, heights, and colours.

GamFratesi's design philosophy draws from a blend of tradition and renewal, with Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi integrating Danish and Italian design traditions. Their aim is to create furniture that reflects the process and techniques involved in its creation, all while exploring the balance between harmony and disharmony. Founded in 2006, GamFratesi studio, led by Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi, is based in Copenhagen, with the designers continuously travelling between Italy and Denmark to develop and research new projects, benefiting from a cross-cultural exchange that enriches their design concepts.

ADDITION brings together resonant works by artists and designers whose practices span geographies, generations, and disciplines. Their ideas and objects sit at the meeting point of material culture, memory, and contemporary imagination.

From our home in Vancouver’s Armoury / Design District, we cultivate thoughtful encounters between creators and collectors, between space and narrative, and between the worlds we inherit and the ones we shape. Upcoming programming extends outward to Mexico City and Lima, Peru.

We acknowledge that ADDITION stands on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, whose enduring stewardship and cultural presence continue to guide the creative communities who gather here.
